Prom and Evening Shoe DIY Part 1: Diamonds and Pearls

There’s something about dressing up that brings me back to the first time I ever tried on makeup and got my hair done – that was back in High School on Prom night!  I experienced the painful mascara curler that pinched right below my eye because I had no idea how to use it and the piercing bobby pins on my head!  I was definitely not very good with hair and make up!  Thank goodness for the the DIY’s on Youtube these days! ;)

This Evening Shoe tutorial reminds me of fond memories of my High School days.  Back then, I could not always afford to purchase a new pair of shoes so I wish I had tips on how I could make what I had a little more unique.

Not to worry girls, over the years I have learned a few tricks in the shoe business and I’m going to share with you a few simple different ways for you to adorn your shoes so they are perfect for you fabulous night!  As they say…

Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life!

This diamonds and pearls design is inspired by Chanel and reminiscent of the 50’s with the use of pearls.  Pearls automatically add glamour to any shoe and for this example I will decorate the platform.  You can choose to keep it all pearls or all rhinestones.  I chose to alternate pearls and rhinestones and purposely chose different sizes to give it more dimension.

Tools:
- Glue melting pot (sometimes easier for working with smaller accessories)
- Pliers
- Pearls, rhinestones, and gems (one side should be flat to glue)

Steps:
- Use your plier and dip the pearls and rhinestones one by one into a glue pot.
** Adult supervision needed for the Glue Pot.                                                                                             - Patiently glue them on around the platform.
- You will experience some glue strings, but you can pull them off after you are all done.
